The office by then was based in Voi Parish.  In 1977 the office was moved to the Mombasa Catholic Secretariat and Mr. Victor Nyange became the first lay Development Coordinator followed by Mr. Stanley Masamo till early 2011.

Currently Mr Kobia David is the acting Development Coordinator under the Diocesan Development Committee.

The Diocesan Development Committee plays a great role in management of the Archdiocese including and not limiting to;

  • Guiding the development coordinator
  • Sitting in Diocesan meetings
  • Receiving proposals from parishes and recommend for funding

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fund raising
  • Write/study project proposals.
  • Document information which can be made available to parishes
  • Coordinate all archdiocesan programs
  • Identify development partners
  • Consolidate reports to donors
  • Identify and management of projects/programs.
  • Establish and monitor projects/programs by seeking expert advice, follow up progress of the same Evaluation and reports throughout the progress of implementation.
  • Capacity building.
  • Offering technical support to project implementors.
  • Network with Government and other development agencies.
